- Preventing attic air leaks into your living space is the most efficient way to lower your energy costs and prevent problems in your home or attic. The cut to fit kit attaches to the attic side of the whole house fan frame. It, in effect, seals off the opening in your attic stopping either the superheated or super-cold air in the attic from invading the living area. It uses a hook and loop fastening system to attach the top which can be partially removed or detached completely from the fan perimeter wall. Now you can use the whole house fan cover to effectively seal and insulate your whole house fan. The Seal A Fan™ prevents radiant heat from entering your home in the summer and leaving your heated areas in the winter. The Seal N Shield™ Seal A Fan™ Cover provides an effective seal against drafts, heat/air conditioning loss and is an easy-to-install system.
- Seal A Hatch is an energy saving attic access insulation cover that seals and insulates a hatch opening. The cover replaces your existing attic hatch panel with a prefabricated panel. The panel has a smooth white durable finish made of fiberglass reinforced plastic bonded to a fire resistant gypsum panel and one inch of high density extruded foam with a multilayer foam radiant barrier. The cut-to-fit kit includes a 23.75 inch by 35.75 inch panel, 10 feet of magnetic seal and a radiant barrier panel.
- Seal A Vent (Magnetic Shutter Cover) Energy Saving Attic Access Cover seals and insulates whole house fan Shutter on the home side. The cut-to-fit kit fits shutter grills up to 36 inches by 48 inches using an advanced magnetic seal and is easily removed from the fan grill during seasonal use. It snaps back in place magnetically to cover the grill during the winter. Seal A Vent is great for homeowners that want to save on their utility bills by sealing their attic fan shutter cover during non-use periods.
- Unless your water heater's storage tank already has a high R-value of insulation (at least R-24), adding insulation to it can reduce standby heat losses by 25%–45%. This can save you up to 9% in water heating costs. Adding additional insulation to your water heater can substantially reduce your energy costs.

Insulate Your Water Heater Tank for Energy Savings
GO GREEN & SAVE SOME GREEN--ENERGY PRICES CONTINUE THEIR UPWARD TREND
Save 4-9% water heating costs by insulating your hot water heater to prevent standby losses.2
Water heating can account for 14%–25% of the energy consumed in your home. You can reduce your monthly water heating bills by selecting the appropriate water heater for your home or pool and by using some energy-efficient water heating strategies.1
Unless your water heater's storage tank already has a high R-value of insulation (at least R-24), adding insulation to it can reduce standby heat losses by 25%–45%.2 This can save you up to 9% in water heating costs. Adding additional insulation to your water heater can substantially reduce your energy costs.
Install a radiant barrier insulation blanket which is considered a green building product. The radiant barrier blankets are manufactured of at least 40% recyclable materials. A radiant barrier foil-foam-foil blanket eliminates standby losses by keeping heat from escaping which keeps the water hotter longer and prevents unnecessary start and stop operation or the water heater. Flexible foam and aluminum materials are used by consumers routinely and are safe for the environment.
Insulating your storage water heater tank is fairly simple and inexpensive. Choose one with an insulating value of at least R-8.

Why? Foil/foam versus fiberglass tank wraps
Energy Shield Radiant Hot Water Blanket |
Typical Fiberglass Hot Water Heater Blanket |
Energy Shield Radiant Hot Water Heater Blanket has a larger piece of material to fit water heaters up to 26 inches in diameter and 60 inches in height. Kit includes a top panel for electric heaters to enhance energy savings.
Installer may attach one side of the foil tape to the tank blanket vertically after cutting to size. During installation, the blanket is wrapped around the heater and joined together where the other side of adhesive liner can be removed to join the blanket ends together. The kit includes 96 inches of scrim-reinforced (has fiberglass strands embedded in tape for strength) tape with acrylic adhesive that includes a split back liner to aid in ease of installation. Acrylic adhesive strengthens with age and resists degradation in temperature extremes.

Insulation blanket fits tanks 23.75 inches in diameter or less. Kit does not include a top panel for an electric tank. Tape for kit includes 100 inches of foil tape with rubber based adhesive.
Foil tapes with rubber-based adhesive have quick adhesion properties but can lose its adhesive abilities with age and do not adhere well in higher than ambient temperatures indoors. Separation between the foil tape and water heater blanket can occur within several months especially in humid regions.
